This book has proven that she had a real grasp of the essence of the Zhou Yi and her understanding of its true meanings was handed down in a direct line from the Zhou Yi s truth. With her book and practices for promoting Yi Dao, he had proven that she was one of the outstanding Yijing masters and scholars of the 20th Century.

What exactly is the Yi Dao or the Yi Jing ? This is a complex question for today s westerners and easterners, including some outstanding translators of Zhou Yi, even for many Chinese Yi scholars, to answer. Fortunately, Hook s <The I Ching and You> gives the clearest, the most authentic and the most authoritative English answer to this question with a wonderful statement. The statement is that What exactly is the I Ching? It is a book of life containing within it an explanation of the entire laws of the universe by which everything is governed and carries explicit directions on how man should conduct himself so as to remain continually in harmony with these laws . Thanks to Hook s <The I Ching and You>, the truth of the classic Chinese definition of Yi Dao or the Yi Jing , which had been presented by ancient sages, such Guan Zi, Lao Zi, Confucius, Zhuan Zi etc. two thousand years ago, has been restored in English.

As the reviewer pointed out, this is a guide book to the Zhou Yi, the classic book of wisdom, designed for the reader seeking a quick comprehension of the subject. It explains step by step, the fundamental principle of the Zhou Yi, and gives a clear insight into the meanings of its eight trigrams and sixty-four hexagrams.

The author illustrates the links between the Zhou Yi and astrology, numerology, symbology and Christian esotericism. She also discuss Jung s explanation of how the Zhou Yi is able to give guidance over problems encountered in both physical and spiritual matters by enabling the collective unconscious to be contacted, thus embracing situation as a cosmic whole instead of a separate, very limited and therefore distoeted experience.

Invaluable when used in conjunction with the Zhou Yi, this book will help the questioner towards a more intuitive grasp of the often highly subtle shades of meaning of the hexagrams.

Eng

A~SO

€{SO

Your inputs are always welcome!

You are welcome to input your comments, suggestions, supports and donations.

There is a bank account of our society for raising funds.

All proceeds will be used to fund publishing the books mentioned above, developing international cooperation on the theme, promoting Universe Yi research and education.

You can contact us by mail via our mailing address on the left side of the page or email at jvs@shaw.ca.

© 2004 The Canada Society of Yi Jing (The Book of Changes).
